The Speak Up When You're Down
Postpartum Depression Awareness Campaign is now underway!

You can read our post-campaign report here. |
The 2005 legislation of Senate Bill 5898 passed in Washington State and created the opportunity for WCPCAN
to take the lead role in enacting a new Postpartum Depression (PPD) awareness campaign in 2006.
Washington is currently one of only a handful of states to legislatively identify and prioritize a public
effort to increase PPD awareness and education.
Working with parent leader Thomas Soukakos, who lost his wife to severe postpartum depression when their
infant son was only four months old; WCPCAN is identifying partnership opportunities to fully
develop and implement this important maternal and infant health campaign for 2006 and beyond.
