New Perinatal Depression Tool is Web-based, Culturally Sensitive and Free

A new web-based training developed under the supervision of Professor Emeritus of Nursing Kathryn E. Barnard, RN, PhD and other experts at the University of Washington School of Nursing and members of the Washington State First Steps team is aimed at providers serving high-risk pregnant and postpartum women.

Keys to Perinatal Depression will offer anyone providing care to pregnant or parenting women a way to increase their knowledge of perinatal depression; gain a better understanding of cultural impediments to relationship building with clients; and sharpen their skills in the administration and scoring of recommended screening materials.
