Celebrating 26 Years of Strengthening Families
The
legislature created the Council for Children & Families (formerly WCPCAN) and the Children's Trust Fund in 1982.
CCF is funded by the state's general fund, the federal Community-Based
Child Abuse Prevention (CBCAP) program grant, the Children's Trust
Fund of Washington and private donations.
CCF
is a 15-member, Governor-appointed Council legislated to promote
prevention of child abuse and neglect:
- Seven citizen Council members
are appointed by the Governor
- Four are ex-officio members designated
from the Department of Health, the Department of Social and Health
Services, the Department of Early Learning and the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction
- Four
are appointed from the Legislature (two each from the House and
Senate).
CCF employs seven staff members: an Executive Director,
two Office Assistants, and four professional staff who manage Grants
and Evaluation, Public Affairs, and Policy and Practice.
